Review-
The marketing side for our gig went extremely well we had a lot of audiences coming to see our show, the audiences were mostly families and friends of the performers but there were also a few locals coming down to the pub to see us performing.I think we attracted more audiences not just because of the promoting side that went really well but also because it was a free entry and we were hosting this gig for two major important charities; cancer research and oxfam. There were some things about the marketing that could have been done better for example the poster we could have designed it better to be more eye catching for the locals although it was a great choice to put up the posters at the stores and around the college campus. It was a great choice to do a press release because it turn out to be very appealing to the target audience and it gave out all the information about us as a class, the venue and the performers.I feel like the Facebook page that we created was where the majority of the audiences heard about our gig because we gave out all the invitation to people who are interested to see us perform.
Questions-
what would you change if you were to promote and market the gig again?
I would have market our gig online earlier because we could have invited more people in different social websites such as sound cloud, Twitter, Youtube ( a jingle,) etc. There could have been a bigger target of audiences if our gig was marketed successfully.Another thing that I would have changed would be to have a time limit for the posters. The posters need to be put up at the right time not late and not to early. Why? because it affects the target of audience, if you put up to early most audiences would lose interest or forget about it.Feedback was something that most of missed for the marketing project, we could have developed a questionnaire to give out to the audience and performers after the gig instead I had to ask a few friends of mine by email on how the venue went.
Theres a lot of other stuff that we didn't do to promote our gig such as more than one press release through different towns, something I would have done if we had extra time.A radio jingle would also have been a great idea to do it would have target a bunch of audiences that are interested in these types of gigs.
