What is marketing?
Is a business to promote and sell their brands to costumers, it is also based on the costumers needs and their satisfactions. Marketing uses different elements to promote their product for example the 4p's is used as a strategy that refers as product,price,place and promotion each have different jobs. A marketing plan is also another strategy that is worth doing, it explains how to put your strategy into action, it will also allow you to set deadlines and budgets for your brand and it gives you an opportunity to think on how you are going to talk to your costumers it could be through social media, direct lining, etc. As you can see there are different ways to create a market strategy but in the end it will give out the same results. Primary Research- Primary research is of the major subjects for a marketing plan.It involves in gathering new data from target audiences, they might be questionnaires, surveys or interviews.It helps you improve the marketing plan for the venue. Advantages of primary research- -A great amount of data -Direct source of research -Gives out ways to improve your marketing plan -A higher level of control on collected information. -Property of information Disadvantages of primary research- -Funds and expenses -Time consuming -Inaccurate feedback -More resources needed Secondary research- Secondary research it is important as the Primary research, they both have the same similarity except that secondary research is to gather data that has already been proven or produced.Such as website articles, newspaper and much more. Target-Who are you selling this brand to Describe your market-Identity Review-key market trends How artists promote their brand- Social Networking- is an awesome way at increase band fame around the world, though they are not very good if a single artists is still not at its peak of fame.It doesn't market the artists physical brands such as t-shirts, posters,albums, etc. But its excellent for global access.There are social networks such as Facebook and sound cloud that promote the artists for free and bring a lot of popularity to the band, you can also update your social page daily with videos, pictures and other assets for your fan's. Websites- You can create your own website that has pictures and videos of your own brand, also information about tours, albums releases, t-shirts (physical brands) and etc. Always remember to put your url and emails where most visitors can easily assess.Include your url on all physical items that you are selling because its a good way to have more people visiting your website. Some social websites gives you an option to promote your own website if you pay a small fee such as £2.50. The publisher is the one who integrates an advert into the online community, it could be on social networks like Facebook, Youtube,Twitter and many others. Adverts may have different fees such as: Facebook-7.00 average wage per day to reach more than 5000 people Youtube-6.41 as a minimum wage per day. Tweeter- has an optional budget per day so you can set how much the cost you want to pay. Posters- Posters are great to promote performing venues because if you put around town there would be more local audiences coming to see the artist perform. Posters and flyers can be printed at home or anywhere else near you with a small fee to pay, it usually costs 0.05p for A4 sheet of paper. Posters are usually straightforward they should have information such as the place/venue, the genre of the show/performance, the date, time, who will be performing and band logo. The more presented and neat the poster is the more audience shall be coming to your performance. Radios- Some artists compose a little jingle to promote their bands, its hard to get songs on the radio especially if your a small artist but with the right contacts it should make everything more simple. Streaming- Streaming is another alternative way to advertise your brand, it does require a form of audio such as a video or an audio interface but it is recorded live so it would be a continuos stream of data. Downloads- A great way to make a profit of your brand is to sell your songs in online stores such as Apple iTunes so it can then be downloaded by its audiences. Major record labels- Major music companies are big companies that have their own label and aim to make money by creating and selling music.Most of this companies are music publishers, producers, record labels, engineers, etc. They have enough budget to promote the artists and their music. Indie record labels- Independent record labels are not usually funded by big labels meaning that they work outside the major music industry with small other companies, they might have a lack of minimum budget to market the artists properly,meaning that most artists have to promote their music and brand. |
