what is a practice routine?
Practice is defined as doing or performing something repeatedly in order to acquire or polish a skill. Many musicians use different practise routine, pianists like to use the scales and memory as there part of learning.
conscious practice-
Always tell yourself what you are doing when you practice. If you are learning a new fingering, say the finger out loud to yourself. If you recognize a cadence, tell yourself the cadence. If you play a sequence, identify the sequence and how the melody is used. The reason why it takes many a long time to learn music is because they just play through it! They don't actively tell themselves what is going on. If you just play through it over and over again, you are not practicing. You are not reminding yourself about what is going on. You have to be active! Your mind must be involved. Count out loud, sing the musical lines, work small sections, tell yourself the harmonic progressions... even something as simple as reminding yourself about how the theme repeats will help you memorize and understand the piece. When you are playing a crescendo, tell yourself! This way you associate the dynamic with the musical line and the fingering. This is what professional musicians do to learn
music.
-what works for me
What works for me are the scales on the piano there easy to learn and they warm up your fingers before the song that you are learning to play.I also like to use conscious practice but i only do it when i have a lot of patience when trying to learn a song because if i don't i'll give up to easily.

what are my personal targets (SMART) for the next two months?
techniques- The techniques that i need to be able to learn for my songs are the Tempo and any dynamic structures because this repertoires use to many dynamics and it makes it much harder to learn.
skills- i need to improve on my conscious practice so its easier for me to learn all this 3 songs in this two months and also some of my scales to make the songs easy to play.
repertoire- start learning this 3 songs for my solos and my 2 ensembles for this two months.
SMART targets?
Specific- Goal objectives should address the five Ws... who, what, when, where, and why. Make sure the goal specifies what needs to be done with a time frame for completion. Use action verbs... create, design, develop, implement, produce, etc. Example: resolve accounting discrepancies within 48 hours.
Measurable- Goal objectives should include numeric or descriptive measures that define quantity, quality, cost, etc. How will you and your staff member know when the goal has been successfully met? Focus on elements such as observable actions, quantity, quality, cycle time, efficiency, and/or flexibility to measure outcomes, not activities. Example: secure pledges from ten new donors by the end of each week.
Attainable-Goal objectives should be within the staff member’s control and influence; a goal may be a “stretch” but still feasible. Is the goal achievable with the available resources? Is the goal achievable within the time frame originally outlined? Consider authority or control, influence, resources, and work environment support to meet the goal. Example: obtain the XYZ professional certification within two years.
Relevant-Goals should be instrumental to the mission of the department (and ultimately, the insti-tution). Why is the goal important? How will the goal help the department achieve its objectives? Develop goals that relate to the staff member’s key account abilities or link with departmental goals that align with the institutional agenda. Example: develop and implement a diversity recruitment plan that increases the number of diversity candidates by ten percent.
time-bound-Goal objectives should identify a definite target date for completion and/or frequencies for specific action steps that are important for achieving the goal. How often should the staff member work on this assignment? By when should this goal be accomplished? Incorporate specific dates, calendar milestones, or timeframes that are relative to the achievement of another result (i.e., dependencies and linkages to other projects). Example: check the fire alarms and emergency lighting in all buildings every six months
how am i going to achieve SMART targets
specific-the goals that i will try to accomplish are to learn the solos that i will be doing for oxjam and to record my daily practise routine such as scales.ill be playing my solos in oxjam.Ill be playing 3 repetoires on the piano each one have different dynamics.Ill be playing one of my ensembles in oxjam and the other ill record with my phone or ill be playing in the kenton threater.
measurable-each week ill record my solos and ensembles on my i phone 4 some of my rehearsing or training daily routine videos will not be in good quality because my phone only has 5.00 megapixels and a size sensor of 1/3.2 but at least it wont cost me a penny and by using my i can upload straight to youtube where i have davids unit folder.
attainable-The goals that i can accomplish in the end are how well im going to play my repetoires and to do that i have to work on my dynamics of my repetoires, the scales so its easier to play some of my songs that are faster than the others and the confidence to play in front of people i mean i have the confidence to play in front of the people but the problem is i always make mistakes while i play infront of public and i have to work on that.
relevant-The revelant goals that i need to accomplish are the efforts that i put into my repetories to do that i have to practise every week so my skills can increase higher.
time bound- our time bound for this project is to end it with in 8 weeks each week needs to have a daily video of myself rehearsing my solos or anything that is appropiate for my fingers.the deadline for this project is before christmas.
